The questions we get at the door

Short questions, straight answers. If yours isn't here, ask it through the form and you'll get the same kind of answer.

The price

Why is there no price list on this site?

Because a price list for junk is a guess, and guesses grow. A garage-full in one house is double the garage-full next door once you open the boxes. So we quote the honest way: we look at the load, we write one figure for the whole job, and that figure is what you pay. No hourly meter, no tip fees added later, no surprises when the truck's already loaded.

What does the fixed price include?

Everything between "yes" and gone: the crew, the lifting from wherever the load sits, the loading, the tip and transfer-station fees, and the sweep-out at the end. If a job needs a lift booking or a dock window arranged with your building, that organising is part of it too.

What if the pile turns out bigger than I described?

We stop and re-quote before we keep going, never after. You always know the number you're agreeing to while there's still a choice to make.

Wouldn't the council take this for free?

Sometimes, and if so we'll tell you. City of Ryde gives each home five free pre-booked cleanup collections a year, capped at 1.5 cubic metres a time and booked about ten days ahead. Great for a couch and a few boxes you can plan around; no help when the bookings are spent, the pile is past the cap, or the lease ends Friday. The full comparison is written down here.

Booking & the day

Can you come today?

Same-day where we can, honestly told when we can't. The run sheet stays on the peninsula, so if there's room in the day, a Gladesville pickup usually fits. If today's full we'll name the first day that isn't, and hold to it.

Do I need to be home?

Not always. If the load is outside, in an open garage or with a building manager who can let us in, we can do the job and send you the photos of the cleared space. The written figure is agreed before we start either way.

How does it work in an apartment building?

On the building's terms. We contact your building manager, book the lift and a dock or parking window, protect the common areas, and work inside whatever the strata rules say. You don't have to referee any of that; it's our part of the job.

Do you do all the lifting?

All of it, from wherever the load sits: under the house, up a walk-up, the back of a storage cage. You point, we carry. If you've already stacked it somewhere handy, the quote reflects the easier job.

What we take

What can go on the truck?

Household junk of nearly every kind: furniture, mattresses, white goods, e-waste, boxes of the unsortable, small renovation debris, green waste. If you're unsure about an item, ask; the quote sheet will also flag anything that needs a different path.

What won't you take?

Asbestos, chemicals, gas bottles and clinical waste. Those legally need a licensed specialist, and any truck that shrugs and takes them anyway is telling you something about the rest of its paperwork. We'll point you to the right path for whatever we can't carry.

Where does it all end up?

The load gets sorted rather than dumped as one lump: reusable things go where they can be reused, recyclable streams to the recyclers, fridges, TVs and e-waste to facilities licensed to take them, and only the true residue to landfill. We don't dress that up with invented percentages; it's just how the job is done properly.

Why can't the fridge just go in the red bin or the council pile?

Fridges hold refrigerant gases that have to be degassed by someone licensed before the shell is recycled, and e-waste carries materials NSW rules keep out of landfill. That's why they get their own line on our sheet and their own stop on the route. The disposal paths are written down here.

Reaching us

How do I get a quote?

Send the job through the enquiry form with a phone photo of the pile if you can. It goes straight to the crew, we ring you back on the number you leave, and the figure arrives in writing. If you want a feel for the job first, the quote sheet reads back the size of the load in about a minute.

A straight answer costs nothing

Tell us what needs to go and where it is. We come back with a plan and a fixed price, in writing, and nothing gets lifted until you have agreed it.
